30 More To Leave Today To Enter Army Navy
Local Draft Board One announced 30 registrants who passed pre induction exams would leave Frederick today for the Army and Navy. A list of 15 registrants, 13 fathers, slated to enter the Army soon was released. Navy entrants departed for the Baltimore Navy Recruiting Station. Army entrants headed to Fort Meade. Among those leaving were 12 Navy and 18 Army recruits, with seven fathers in the Navy group and 10 in the Army group. The April Army group consists of second March pre induction acceptances. A few holdovers await the first key induction call. Names included for Navy and Army entries are listed with addresses in the text.

Commodore Lawrence F. Reifsnider 56 of Westminster Maryland has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for command of an amphibious force transport group in the 11th Naval District announcement today He previously received the Legion of Merit and was tactical commander of the transport group in the Bougainville assault on November 1 He led routing and escort operations for vessels carrying supplies and troops through submarine and air threatened waters.
