Frederick Jaycees win $500 grant for Operation Threshold
Frederick Jaycees receive a $500 grant from the United States Jaycees Foundation for the national Operation Threshold alcohol education program. Local funds will support an alcohol information center in Frederick through the Frederick County Council on Alcoholism. Grants totaling $1,300 to Maryland chapters come from the NIAA and Jaycees networks.

Airman Donald Cauthen Completes Basic Training
Donald K. Cauthen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cauthen of Rt. 1 Lantz, completed the Air Training Command basic course for electronic specialists at Keesler Air Force Base Mississippi. He will remain at Keesler for advanced training as a communications equipment repairman. He is a 1971 graduate of Catoctin High School Thurmont.
