Fruit Weather Keeps Orchard Prospects Bright in County
Observations from Harry R. Shoe-Maker report that frost and light showers did not severely damage fruit in the county orchards. Ice formed briefly at 24 degrees but most crops, including plums and apricots, escaped harm, with peaches only lightly affected. Warm days and a dry spell following showers suggest a good year ahead despite a March rainfall deficit of about one inch.
