Triple murder trial to begin next week in Maryland
A Montgomery County man, Lawrence T. Horn, 55, faces a 6 to 8 week trial in Frederick County for allegedly hiring a hit man to kill his former wife, their severely handicapped son, and the son’s horse. Jury selection starts Tuesday with at least 60 Frederick residents to choose a 16 member panel plus four alternates. Judge Ann S. Harrington denied moving the trial, citing capital-case rights and bias concerns from publicity. The case will strain Frederick’s trial space as one of four circuit courtrooms is repurposed, while district court space is stretched by other duties.
