Jackson Calls Frederick City Charming During 1862 Visit
General Jackson toured Frederick with two staff officers, Morri son and Kyd Douglas, and attended the Evangelical Reformed Church. The visit featured Jackson’s remarks that Frederick looked charming, the absence of service in the Presbyterian Church, and his sleep during Dr Zacharias’s sermon. Douglas recounted the pass incident and the gray cap anecdote tied to relics later.
