Egypt maps new drives for pressuring Israel
Egyptian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Riad and top aides met in Paris to map a vigorous campaign aimed at pressuring Israel. Riad stopped in Italy en route for talks with Tito, Colombo and Moro, then met French Foreign Minister Schumann as a three day session began. Sadat warned the next few days would be decisive in the Arab fight for destiny and noted the Suez truce frailty without peace progress. He cited U.S. support for Israel and insisted on recovering all Arab land and Palestinian rights amid Jordanian violence nearby. Kadafi urged guerrillas to topple Jordan's government, signaling possible regional escalation.
