Shooting Trial Reopens In Howard County Court
The Howard County Circuit Court renewed the murder case against Edgar M. Watkins for the death of Edward Trail. State prosecutor Jer D. McGuire led the opening, arguing Watkins killed Trail after a long feud sparked by accusations and threats. Defense contends Trail provoked the violence and Watkins acted in self defense. Witnesses described the confrontation at Norwood’s house and Trail’s fatal shooting outside amid tense accusations and weapon displays. The day ended with additional testimony from local residents, a coroner’s jury, and a magistrate's account, as the court adjourned near 9:30 PM.
