A sequence of community blood drives runs through April at sites including AMVETS in Middletown, St Timothy’s in Walkersville, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, Middletown High School, Frederick High School, Alcoa site, Seton Ave in Emmitsburg, Catoctin High School, All Saints Episcopal in Frederick, Mount St Mary’s College, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, AmVets in Frederick, YMCA, Walkersville High School, and Brookhill United Methodist Church. Braddock Heights and Middletown Valley Optimist Club hosts first Raster Flower Sale from March 28 to Easter morning at the old Tastee Freze in Middletown to aid Frederick County youth. Several clubs plan seafood bonds, oyster and pit beef feeds, and multiple bingo and charity events through early April to benefit local nonprofits and student programs. Proceeds support Heartly House Children’s Services Healthy Families Frederick Habitat for Humanity and music programs at Catocin High School, with tickets and contact numbers listed for each event.
