Repeal of blue laws moves in Maryland House panel
The House Judiciary panel leans toward statewide repeal with 11 new members after elections. Frederick County’s separate repeal bill may linger until the all-encompassing measure passes. Delegates McClellan and Hattery expect broad House support as the panel’s shift to 18-2 signals momentum. Only auto dealers would stay closed Sundays statewide except in Montgomery County where dealers may open. Senate President Miller welcomed the action.
