Compromised suit over Patterson heirs against railroad
The case of the heirs of Geo. C. Patterson of Rockville against the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company has been compromised with the company agreeing to pay costs. Patterson died after being struck by a train in Rockville a few months ago. The suit sought $10,000 in damages.

Gang of Desperadoes Roams Tuscarora and Jackson
The Examiner reports a gang of mountain outlaws reorganized to renewed depredations in Tuscarora and Jackson districts. Last Saturday night they raided Mr Joseph E Staley’s chicken roost stealing fowls and releasing cattle, then hit Mroo A Ramsburg and J Win Neighbours, taking feed and grain. They also stole bed sheets from Mrs Bishop and remain well known locally, with justice sought.
