A twenty one year old man August Hadtetsciitk set fire to straw in his father’s barn on a farm near Genoa then shot himself. His partner perished in the blaze and cattle died in the fire causing about four thousand dollars in loss. The mother found him at the barn door amid flames. Twenty injured as cellar floor collapses during an auction near Sand Lake Michigan.
An interurban car on the Ann Arbor line jumped the track on Michigan avenue and crashed into A Silverstein’s store, splitting the car and burying sections into the building. About forty-one passengers sustained injuries, many minor, with a few serious. Witnesses noted speeds near forty miles an hour as two other cars previously jumped the rail. Three Polish miners burned in Pittston during a gas explosion, while Mrs. Jacob Sharp loses her voice from grief at a Philadelphia funeral.
