Maryland House Bills Eases RN Path To Baccalaureate Degree

The Maryland House of Delegates passed a bill to ease RN transfer from two year training to a bachelor of science in nursing, while opponents warn of higher costs and mandatory degrees. The plan requires credits from AA diplomas and nursing experience to be recognized toward a BSN and sets a five year window for non bachelor holders to comply. The bill's fate rests with the Senate and governor, with debate over community college impacts and wage effects.
