Two Frederick County Farms Honored at MCMP Meeting
At the Maryland Cooperative Milk Producers annual meeting at Hunt Valley Inn, the Keefer family of Woodsboro and the Norris family of Mt. Airy received 50 year plaques for continuous MCMP membership. R. L. Streck discussed dairy policy, subsidies, parity, and a push for an 80 percent price support with quarterly adjustments, warning against higher parity that could raise prices and reduce sales. Special guests included Maryland Comptroller Lews Goldstein and University of Maryland agriculture dean Gordon Cairns.
