Body of man who slew wife found near Frederick Junction
The body of Merril Stull, a Bethel native and inn proprietor, was found this afternoon in a field near Frederick Junction after he allegedly killed his wife, Margaret Stull, at the Green Valley Inn. Police said he shot himself during a chase and remains at large yesterday. The case links a violent argument and prior assaults with a large family of 11 children and a wife who was a waitress. Funeral arrangements for Mrs Stull are pending.

Finnegan Sentenced to Two Years and $10,000 Fine

SILVER SPRING. March 24. Mrs. Eleanor E. Dowling, 44, released on $5,000 bond on embezzlement charges from the Washington law firm where she has worked as a secretary for a year. Police said the bank notified Weissbrodt & Cobb of an overdrawn account. Dowling is charged with embezzling $389.90, with about $130 missing. The $3,600-a-year secretary employs a $45-a-week maid and sends her three children to private school.

Year-Old Girl Killed By Train Near Rocky Ridge
Janie Davis Eigenbrode five year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Joan Henry Eigenbrode of near Rocky Ridge was struck and instantly killed by a Western Maryland passenger train near her home this morning. The accident occurred about 825 o clock and medical examiner ruled accidental death. The deaf mute child did not see the train as it rounded a curve near the Monocacy crossing about a half mile east of Rocky Ridge. The train No 6 from Hagerstown to Baltimore was due at the intersection about 608 p m. State Trooper Kenneth D Bond Sheriff R Paul Buhrman and the medical examiner investigated. The child was walking between the rails on the main line while grandmother Elsie A Eigenbrode walked between the main line tracks and siding tracks returning to the home about 200 feet away. The grandmother tried to reach the child as the train rounded the bend but was too late. The Eigenbrode residence sits at the intersection of a semi private road and the railroad tracks about a half mile east of Rocky Ridge. The girl was decapitated authorities added. Train engineer Jesse E Clem 62 of Hagerstown said he saw the girl on the tracks but could not stop in time. Conductor Isaac King of Vir ginia Drive Hagerstown identified. She is survived by her parents John Henry and Agnes Davis Eigenbrode and one brother. Body at M L Creager and Son funeral home in Thurmont. Arrangements to be announced.

The Victor D Mills family of Hagerstown endures repeated tragedy. Two and a half years ago Mrs Mills was killed when a tree fell in her yard.
