Tall Cedars Proclaim Tall Cedar Week by Mayor
Mayor Ronald Young signed a proclamation designating Tall Cedar Week. The Tall Cedars of Lebanon support muscular dystrophy research through the Tall Cedar Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association while aiding members to be socially aware and active. Ride-A-Bike for Retarded Citizens slated in Carroll County
The sixth annual Ride-A-Bike for Retarded Citizens in Carroll County is set for 1 p.m. Sunday April 30. Multiple local organizations coordinate routes across Westminster Freedom Hampstead Taneytown Mount Airy Finksburg and Westminster High School lot safety signups. Proceeds aid Carroll County Association for Retarded Citizens programs including sheltered workshop camping recreation transportation and advocacy. Registration forms are available locally or by mail from the Association for Retarded Citizens. Maryland State Police will review all routes prior to kickoff.

The 61st anniversary Red Cross Volunteer awards luncheon for the Frederick County Chapter will be held at 11 30 am Wednesday March 29 at Ernis Italian Kitchen. YMCA Announces Spring Swim Courses For Women And Coed Class
Frederick County YMCA offers ladies swim instruction from beginner to advanced starting Monday April 3 at 1 45 a m, weekly for 10 weeks, plus an adult coed class Tuesday April 4 from 8 30 to 9 30 p m. Treasury officials report February 1978 U S Savings Bond sales reached 686 million, surpassing 664 million in February 1977 and marking the month’s highest level in a decade. Series E sales were 668 million and Series H 28 million, with payroll savings accounting for about 60 percent of total purchases. Outstanding Series E and H bonds total 77 415 billion. Calonsville Community College offers a six session credit-free course titled Learning to Work with Handicapped Individuals.
