Brownies and Scouts Busy Week in Walkersville
Brownies and Scout units in Walkersville completed a busy week for the 44th National Girl Scout week. Windows were decorated at local stores and a church service was held with many local youths and adults attending. A PTA program featured a Brownies playlet and a Girl Scout evening with many participants, followed by ongoing leadership and activity notes. The piece also notes a postponed bicycle winch event and lists involved leaders and participants from the Brownie and Girl Scout groups. In national news, Brazil’s coffee crop for 1955 is reported at 236 million bags, a rise from 1953 and 1954 figures.
