Kids Safety group wins state coalition award
The Maryland Safe Kids Coalition earned the Outstanding State Coalition award at the National Safe Kids Leadership Conference for efforts including passage of the updated Maryland Child Passenger Safety Law and a GM dealer program in Howard County. Midas Muffler donated 40 car seats to support loaner programs statewide including Frederick County. Nancy Boyd of Frederick Memorial Hospital notes Frederick is first county with taxi firms offering child seats, aided by local donations. The goal over five years is training GM dealership staff nationwide in proper installation.
