Green One saves wounded in Vietnam night ambush
U S Army patrol near My Phu on South Vietnam s central coast battled through a night as Green One signaled a rescue. Five troopers moved on foot to reach a wounded comrade amid hedgerows and hostile fire. Dawn revealed six Americans dead, 25 wounded, 12 missing, with Green One safe but the company commander killed trying to aid a gunner.
