Pat Ward Ends Her Testimony in Jelke Trial
New York March 21 Pat Ward ended five days of testimony against Mickey Jelke and again asserted the Fifth Amendment to shield her sex life. The 21 year old cafe society star said it has been an ordeal and refused to confirm sexual relations with anyone since Jelke's 1953 trial. She admitted earning an additional $100 for a sex date after Florida and testified Jelke recruited her as a high priced call girl. Ward also said she spent time in a First Avenue bar and declined to answer questions about a man identified as Emanuel Trujillo. Several notable figures were named as those with whom she had never had sex dates. Ward testified she netted 10 000 to 15 000 as a Jelke managed call girl and that she turned most money over to Jelke dropping hints about her bank accounts as spectators dwindled.

Four Who Broke Jail Near Frederick To Be Released
Sheriff Horace M. Alexander reports four youths who escaped from Frederick jail in February 1952 will be available for local authorities on April 30 after release from Arkansas State Penitentiary. The group includes Richard J. Himes, Lawrence Riggles, William B. Tregoning, and John Wright Byrum of Raleigh North Carolina. They escaped by removing a lighting fixture and exiting through a small roof hole, later stealing a car in Ohio before abandoning it. They were awaiting trial for robberies connected to the escape.
