County delegate pursues federal funds for regional medevac copter
Washington County leader Del. Peter G. Callas seeks federal money to establish a three state regional medevac helicopter based in Hagerstown to serve Maryland West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He cites trauma center needs and weather limits affecting current state police coverage, with support from local fire and rescue officials and hospital leaders. The plan would potentially address gaps on the Eastern Shore and Delmarva, and has been discussed with U S Senator Byrd as meetings were canceled for scheduling.
