Ladino Clover Pastures Boost Poultry Gains, Says Maryland Expert
Wade Rice of the University of Maryland Poultry Department cites ladino clover pastures as increasing birds’ growth, vitality and nutrition. An acre can be worth 550 to 560 per acre at current feed costs with birds doing harvest work, while regular movement of feeders and correct fertilizing maximize benefit. County agents can provide complete recommendations to farmers for spring pasture plans and rotational grazing to optimize dairy herd grazing and yield.
