Triumph review notes Jacksons' reunion album disappointment
The Jacksons release Triumph after Michael Jackson’s On the Wall and Destiny. The set repeats the earlier format with uptempo stomps and few standout tracks aside from Time Waits for No One and Lovely One. Michael sings lead but is underutilized, with Heartbreak Hotel and Can You Feel It seen as slick but strained. The result is a energetic but messy holding pattern that still stirs a good sweat.
