Medical breakthrough hints at blood mucoids diagnosing diseases
Johns Hopkins researchers led by Dr. Winston Price report a method to fractionate serum mucoids in blood that may indicate both clinical and subclinical forms of chronic diseases. Early data from families of patients and controls show disease-specific mucoid patterns, but case numbers are small and further study is needed. A press briefing is planned.
