Legislation shifts power on county board and funds impacts
A Maryland bill moving through Annapolis would require a simple majority on the Frederick County board of commissioners to override the county's action, replacing a two vote veto. Other bills loosen borrowing rules and expand contingency funds, with tax levy increases and higher borrowing authority. Additional measures concern wildlife spotlights bans, court document fee handling, and state grants for a public pool and a training workshop with a potential $200,000 loan.
