Counterfeit Monroe mint nickels spark nation wide probe

Secret Service and Treasury records later revise the count to 47 million coins, with 3,400 finished nickels found in a Chester County farmhouse. Three men were arrested as the operation unraveled amid Prohibition era desperation.
