In Bogota the M-19 guerrillas holding 32 hostages at the Dominican Republic Embassy lowered their demand from 215 to 28 jailed leftists in exchange for the diplomats. Stores get lesser fines for violations of blue laws
TOWSON AP An interpretation of the law saved several Baltimore County businesses thousands of dollars in fines for blue law violations from the 1976 Christmas season. Deputy State’s Attorney Howard Merker said Tuesday that fines totaled 4100 for 100 cases. He previously estimated more than 90000 would come from maximum penalties from the 1978 Christmas violations. Because the charges were being processed, a business convicted for offenses in both years could not legally be labeled a repeat offender.
