Repeal of 40 Hour Week Opposed by War Officials
Washington reports Army Navy and maritime heads told a Senate inquiry there is no need to repeal the 40 hour week or push anti strike laws. War Production Board chief Donald Nelson was urged to cancel profits on war contracts to curb strikes. The panel sought a wartime policy from the War Labor Board and considered time and a half pay for overtime.
