County weighs Lake Spring water system purchase compromise
Frederick County commissioners debated public water and sewer service for White Rock and Pinecliff residents and settled on a rate compromise for Lake Spring Water Company users. The plan would have White Rock pay 393 dollars yearly and Pinecliff 782 dollars for water and sewer if the county buys the system or keeps it separate, with a formal letter indicating interest in acquisition if kept as a separate system. The move follows residents’ complaints of poor service and unhealthy water and presents three options: add to county system, keep separate, or new proposal.
