Montgomery County teachers rally over budget hearing
Montgomery County education officials defend a 372.4 million funding request against an 364 million cap set by the council. The dispute could trigger 20 percent pay roll offsets and loss of extracurricular stipends, with improvements like gifted counselor expansion and computer instruction at risk. An overflow crowd is expected as the 7 p.m. hearing follows a rally at Richard Montgomery High School.
