County approves one deputy in budget talks
Frederick County officials recommended funding one new patrol deputy to address patrol shortages while rejecting two other deputy requests. The move aims for equal shift coverage, with a patrol car and seven replacement cruisers planned at a total county cost of about 7,600 per vehicle if purchases align with a July 1 budget start. A public hearing on the recommendations is slated for April. The report also notes storage of unrelated historical notes about Quicksand and Scott Joplin.
