Senate approves disclosure bill to jail or fine reporters
The Senate cleared the way for a measure penalizing journalists who reveal covert CIA agent names abroad. The passage, supported by President Reagan, aims to deter terrorism but drew sharp criticism from journalism groups and the ACLU as a First Amendment threat. Final passage awaited as debates continued over prosecutorial burden.

New dialysis method eyed for diabetics in Boston AP report

The procedure involves a catheter in the abdomen and a portable dialysis liquid bag, enabling home treatment with fewer clinic visits. Peritoneal dialysis costs about half as much as hemodialysis.
