War Prosperity Dubbed Fallacy By Goucher Scholar
Dr. Etta Loon of Goucher College in Baltimore labeled “war prosperity” a fallacy in Frederick, arguing war profits do not offset debts or depressions. She urged embargoes, price controls, and peaceful legislation, noting war costs and profits harm taxpayers and economy. Local peace group meetings elected officers and discussed peace education programs in Hood College and area schools.
