Convicted Matusow jailed three years for court contempt
In El Paso today Judge RK E Thomason sentenced Harvey Matusow to three years in federal prison for criminal contempt of court tied to a 1954 Jencks trial. The judge found Matusow lied when recanting testimony about Communist ties and said the reversal aimed to obstruct justice. Matusow denied conspiring with union officials or publishers. A separate docket notes other local cases including assaults and driving offenses with various penalties.
