Cumberland Man Dies Here Of Hemorrhage
Carlton D. Shores a 45 year old inspector for the State Roads Commission died in Frederick Memorial Hospital after being stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage in his hotel room at the Francis Scott Key. Shores from Cumberland Maryland had been in Frederick this week for a first aid civil defense course and died about 3 10 this morning. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and his body was to be turned over to a Cumberland undertaker. Funeral arrangements were not known. Also included is a report that Shores was married.

Escape convict returns to Illinois after extradition
An escaped convict Richard Lawrence Kappes said he was sick of ducking the cops and was turned over to Illinois Sheriff Ralph E. Cripe for return to the Van Dalia prison farm after waiving extradition. Governor approval followed and Kappes, who fled last Halloween, will serve time for an automobile tampering charge.
