Hagerstown March 16 Pay ment of claims for lump sums under the old age insurance plan of the Social Security Act averaged 35.55 in Maryland during February. Charles E. Bailey, manager of the Hagerstown Field Office announced. During February 258 claims were certified for payment, totaling 46,594.38 by the end of the month. The largest claim was 1,001.67. Mary land’s 1937 Christmas seals fund from this county reached 1,619.72, under the Maryland Tuberculosis Association with Dr. E C Kefauver as seal sale chairman for Frederick county.

Gov Nice and Board to pick site for Md State Office Building
Annapolis March 15 Gov Harry W Nice and the Board for Public Works planned to select two definite sites for the new state office building at an April 6 quarterly meeting.
