Judge bans flipper extensions on Maryland car carriers
In Frederick County District Court Judge Rollins ruled that hinged metal ramps extending beyond 65 feet violate Maryland law and are banned on auto transporters. The decision affects about 400 pending cases and highlights a clash with safety arguments, as truckers contend the devices protect the last car. The case underscores ongoing tension over truck length limits and interstate variations.
