Community thanks firefighters over EMS funds raid stance
A letter from readers in Western Maryland thanks firefighters emergency services personnel and citizens for opposing a $5 million transfer from EMS funds to balance a bloated budget. It notes the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee hearing where the Glendening Townsend administration backed off the idea and urges continued public safety funding. The message also praises volunteers and teachers for animal shelter donations and thanks regional leaders and community members for their support.
