Zoning Board Grants Bed and Breakfast at Main Street Home

Thurmont's Board of Zoning Appeals approved a special exception for Joseph Rizzo and Linda Weddle to convert three of four bedrooms at 101 W Main St into a bed and breakfast. Parking will be expanded with a side lot to meet five-space requirement, with a seven day limit on guest stays. Neighbors opposed, fearing blight and street congestion. The board also allowed the Thurmont Church of God to lease 103 Appies Church Road for church use due to flood issues at the current site.
