PBS saving Houseman Paper Chase
John Houseman rose from theater and film behind the scenes to star as Kingsfield in The Paper Chase. CBS TV picked up the series in 1976, boosting Houseman’s fame and earning him praise and an Oscar nod. Public TV later revived the show with WITV backing and WTTW reruns. Perigee Books replaces Paragon in Putnam’s trade paperbacks.
