A Book A Day By Bruce Catton Review
A critic reviews Act Of Darkness by John Peale Bishop. The story begins in Shenandoah Valley through a teenage boy’s eyes but shifts to focus on a farmer uncle who seduces a friend’s wife and leads to a criminal assault case. The reviewer notes strong early atmosphere but an unsatisfying expansion that undermines the promise.
