Huffer Asks For New Trial In Damage Suit
A motion for a new trial in the $20,000 damage case brought by Russell W. Arnold against John W. Huffer of Burkittsville was heard this morning. The nine grounds include insufficient verdict, newly discovered evidence, error in rulings, excessive damages, jury misconduct, and juror disqualification. The trial drew a packed courtroom as proceedings extended to night. Arnold was represented by S. A. Lewis and Kieffer DeLauter.

Alleged auto thief injures himself during escape
C H McClintock of Hagerstown confined in Franklin County jail allegedly sawed bars from his cell window and leaped from a second story, injuring his ankle. He told officers he found two saws in a cell hole and used a torn blanket as a pillow beside a jail keeper’s dog. He faces charges in several states for thefts of automobiles including Dr P S Lansdale and George Creager.
