CAP trains for search with Civil Air Patrol drills
The Western Maryland Civil Air Patrol and Maryland Wing staged a weekend air disaster drill February 25 26 simulating a missing Cessna 182 flight from Frederick to Thurmont. Cadets aided ground teams mapping courses and acting as victims while CAP bases coordinated with FAA and USAF liaisons. Weather limited flight time but highlighted volunteer needs and inter-base cooperation among Frederick Cumberland and Hagerstown units.
