Statement Evidence In Rape Trial

A 20 year old man from Baltimore testified in Frederick Circuit Court that he had intimate relations with a girl described as an imbecile. The case centers on a four count indictment against Paul Lambert for assaulting a year old girl. Medical and psychological experts testified to the girl’s severe mental impairment, while the State argued the relations were knowingly intimate. The trial proceeded with numerous witnesses and character testimony as defense objections challenged the admissibility of the statement Lambert made at police headquarters.

As debates sharpened, lawmakers weighed political risk against revenue needs, while a parallel push eyed related taxes and a new campus project on the Eastern Shore. The scene reflected tense party dynamics as Gov. McKeldin’s program moves faced opposition from Republicans and some Democrats. Market news closed with a quiet New York session as stocks held modest gains only marginally changed.
