Williams Is Given Term In Prison
Charles W. Williams, 23, of East Fifth street, was sentenced to not more than 18 months in the Maryland Reformatory for Males for his part in smashing a hardware store window to obtain a revolver and shells last December. Co defendant Cleve land T. Grove is serving a separate sentence and was not tried today. Grove and Williams had planned a robbery in Pennsylvania possibly Gettysburg. Williams pleaded guilty after police tracked the group through the city. The incident followed prior window smashing at a gun store. Williams is a World War II veteran and former military policeman. The court could not suspend the sentence.

Sam Wong a 20 year old operator of three Chinese restaurants in Washington was sentenced to a year and a day in prison and fined 20000 dollars for federal income tax evasion. Two Die In Hotel Fire At Benton Wisconsin
Fire destroyed the 72 room Hudson Hotel on Benton's public square early today and took two lives. Victims were Mike EVM an elderly ex miner and George Summers a former carnival worker, both in rear third floor rooms.
