A new trial was granted for Lloyd Baer of near Wolfsville after jurors questioned if lunch might have influenced their verdict. Edgar Lee Weedon of 114 West All Saints Street was jailed 30 days after being found guilty of exceeding 70 miles per hour by Magistrate Thomas S. Glass in Peoples Court. Weedon was arrested on Route 340 near Feagaville last December 31 by Trooper l/c M. J. Whitney. He was jailed for non payment of a $100 fine and costs. Collateral forfeited included $10 for Ira Bruce Ratnes of Red Creek West Virginia for passing on a curve, $5 for Calvin P. Shafer of Middletown for passing on a hill, $5 for Jack Barenstein of Green Belt for passing on a double white line, $5 for John T. Goldsborough of Baltimore for passing on a double white line, and $10 for Jack E. Welty of Hagerstown for failure in another automatic traffic light. The arrests were made by Trooper Whitney.

Rangoon March 91 The Burmese Court of Appeal ordered the release of Dr Gordon Seagrave the famed Burma surgeon who had been sentenced February 17 to six years for aiding rebels. The 53 year old doctor arrested last August at Namkham hospital had faced high treason charges later reduced. judges found his aid to rebels to relieve suffering and granted leniency. Seagrave walked free after three hours and said he seeks to return to help the people, though it was unclear if authorities would permit him to go back to Namkham.
