Col. Charles A. Lindbergh started the Brownsville to Mexico City air mail service from Valbuena Airfield at 3 36 am local time. He carried a right shoulder injury bandaged for the flight aided by a second plane piloted by Alfred Kent of the Mexican Aviation Company. The route crossed Hidalgo Vera Cruz and Tamauipas provinces with a Tampico stop planned and the service aims to deliver Mexico City to New York within 36 hours.
About thirty principals and superintendents from Frederick, Washington and Montgomery counties will convene at Frederick High School for a regional conference. Elvér Miquel a 28 year old Cuban slayer on death row for the 1928 killing of Louise Jacks at Schuylkill County jail in Pottsville escapes with a pistol. He demanded keys from guard Roy Reeves who was shot in the leg. Miquel overpowered another guard and fled during the escape attempt.
Geneva March AP The League of Nations council unanimously endorsed Sir Austen Chamberlain’s plan to ease U S accession to the World Court. The committee of jurists reviewing the World Court statutes was urged to study accession possibilities and propose satisfactory conditions for all parties.
Public health officers from five counties will gather in Frederick next Saturday at the U M C A building to discuss health matters. Dr R H Riley will lead the session with health officers Dr J P Franklin Dr B F Prather Dr W T Prat Dr W C Slone and Dr E Kefauver among those attending. The meeting invites local officials and the public and will likely be a single morning session starting at 9 30 o clock. Kefauver will discuss Frederick county activities and each county will outline its health programs.
