Emmitsburg Man and Youth Held on Marijuana Charge

An Emmitsburg man Stephen Franklin Kelly and a juvenile passenger were charged with possession of marijuana after a patrol officer stopped their parked vehicle on Md. 806 near U S 15 at 2 am today. The driver Kelly 23 was released on recognizance. the juvenile was released to parents.

Man Killed In Accident At Frederick Road Intersection

An 80-year-old Emmitsburg man, William F. Sanders, died after his 1959 sedan pulled directly into the path of a southbound 1967 tractor-trailer at the US 15 and Old Frederick Road intersection. Sanders was eastbound at a flashing red light when the collision occurred. Lloyd Herbert Perry, 51, of Pennsylvania, drove the truck. State Police Tpr. Richard C. Conklin investigated.
