Loyal Jap-Americans May Aid On Md. Farms
Baltimore March 7 Almost 200 loyal Japanese-Americans could be imported from western states to help relieve the farm labor shortage in Maryland this summer. R C Cronin of the War Relocation Authority said some families now in two camps near Phoenix Arizona might come to Maryland to harvest crops. He doubted more than 200 would be brought. These people are not to be confused with alien Japanese loyal to their country such as those at Tule Lake. Cronin said they are high character and resources but there is no authority to compel them to go anywhere and participation depends on themselves.
