Frederick County to start outdoor nature center on city land
A three year lease transfers 750 to 800 acres on Mount Frederick west of the Hamburg Fire Tower for an experimental outdoor laboratory. No permanent structures will be built yet with 20 students planned for a three week summer conservation program. Planning includes trails, tree planting, stream work and wildlife conservation while Audubon studies suggest capital needs between 104000 and 166000 dollars and annual costs around 29800 to 34950 dollars.
