Belief grows Gartrell is dead amid manhunt
For more than forty eight hours after the Buckeystown murder of Miss Arta Iris Jenkins, state and county officers have hunted Harvey Gartrell near Morgans and Frederick Junction. Officials believe he may have drowned in the Monocacy river or fled by freight. Searches continue with Gartrell’s home watched and clues like a pocketbook and cigarettes found along the riverbank.
